Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil Among Wolves Managerial Contenders

Rob Edwards along with Gary O'Neil are two of the initial names under consideration to replace Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolves.

Pereira was sacked on the weekend after the team's ten-game winless beginning to the top-flight campaign.

Furthermore Edwards and O'Neil - both of who have historic associations to the team - are part of the names to be considered by the club ownership.

Edwards is presently at Middlesbrough, which would pose a potential hurdle to his hiring at Wolves' stadium.

Nevertheless the former Luton Town manager - who played over a century of games for Wolves during his time as a player - is said to be a leading contender for the position.

The mid-career manager is said to have backing from the club directors as they begin the search of appointing a new head coach.

O'Neil is additionally appearing as a unexpected contender, although he would be a shock choice given he was sacked by Wolves in December last year.

The ex- West Ham player is currently unemployed which means the club would not be required to provide any compensation.
