The children's author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

The author

Acclaimed writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A representative for the company commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was taken subsequent to an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour involving women.

The firm declined to specify the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, including a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
